In this two-day workshop, set against the classic backdrop of the Boneyard Beach at Botany Bay, South Carolina, we invite you to unlock the secrets of Long Exposure Photography. Commencing with two hours of comprehensive classroom instruction at a hotel TBA, we'll cover the essentials, from mastering your camera settings to understanding the artistic vision behind each long exposure shot. After lunch, we'll head to Botany Bay and the Boneyard Beach for hands-on field practice, where you'll have the opportunity to apply your newfound knowledge amidst the picturesque surroundings.
Delve into the technical aspects of capturing the flow of time, harnessing the magic of extended shutter speeds to create dreamlike images of moving water, dynamic skies, and dramatic landscapes. By the end of the day, you'll leave with not only a set of stunning long exposure photographs but also a heightened appreciation for the artistry and technical finesse that define this captivating photographic style.
If you do not own any ND filters, do not worry, I have several that students can borrow during the workshop.
Day TWO will entail three hours of post processing demonstrations that will include some advanced Photoshop Layer work. The use of layers will help us overcome some of the pitfalls of Long Exposure photography like blowing leaves and branches, high dynamic range, and more.
